Easy answer: crickets have a 10 week life span, Dubia can live 2+ years after reaching adulthood. With that being said, crickets are easily mass produced (over 100 million per year) whereas the most commonly used size of Dubia (mediums/larges) take 4-6 months to grow up to size.

      There is no comparison!

  • Crickets stink!....Dubias don't!

  • Crickets can Bite you animal!....Not Dubias!

  • Crickets jump out!....Dubias cannot jump, climb, or fly!

  • Crickets can multiply in your house!....Dubias will not breed unless their temps are 80 degrees +

  • Crickets chirp!....Dubias don't!

  • Best part, Dubias have more protein and less ash, making them Healthier!

Like most insect breeders, we use 2 different kinds of 'cleaner beetles', commonly referred to as a 'clean-up crew' (CUC) in our insect colonies. We use Demisted and Buffalo Beetles, which both have a beetle stage and a larvae stage. When preparing orders to ship, we take great caution NOT to include these, unless otherwise requested or purchased. However, especially when purchasing 'Extra Small Dubia' and 'Mealworms', occasionally we'll miss a hitchhiker and it'll arrive with your order. Not to worry! If one of these hitchhikers shows up with your bugs, just crush it and throw it out. If you missed it and your animal eats it, also no worries, they will NOT harm your animal!
